It sits on a table or a terrace rather than needing a hearth, and the flame is steady rather than sooty, so it does not leave marks on a ceiling or a smell in the curtains. Fuel, where it applies, goes in measured and cold, and a burn lasts long enough for a meal rather than a moment. The body stays cooler than the flame suggests, but it is still a fire, and it is placed and handled like one. When it is out and cold it stores like any other piece of decor.
