Lay it, water it, wait
Unroll the mat over prepared soil, press it flat and water it in. The fabric holds the seed in place so it does not wash away or blow off before it takes.
Even growth across the whole patch
Seed sits at a consistent spacing across the mat, so grass comes through evenly rather than in clumps with bare ground between them.
Two mats in every pack
The double pack covers a larger area in one go or leaves you a spare for repairs later in the season. Vellhaven keeps the format simple so you can cut the mat to fit awkward corners.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I prepare the ground first?
Rake the area level, clear stones and old growth, and loosen the top layer of soil. The mat then sits flat and makes contact with the soil straight away, which is what gets the seed going.
Do I need to remove the mat once the grass grows?
No. The fabric is biodegradable and breaks down into the soil as the lawn establishes, so the grass grows through it and you never have to lift it out.
Can I cut it to fit an odd shaped area?
Yes. Cut the mat with scissors to follow a border, a path edge or a corner. The seed stays held in the fabric on either side of the cut, so nothing is wasted.
What do I get in the double pack?
Two mats, so you can lay a larger stretch at once or keep the second one back for patching thin areas once the first has taken.
How often should I water it?
Keep the mat damp rather than soaked while the seed is establishing, which usually means a light watering once or twice a day in dry weather. Once the grass is up, normal lawn watering is enough.
